Eyelid & Forehead Lift Conveniently located to serve Atlanta and Fulton
The eyelid lift (also called blepharoplasty, eyelid surgery, or undereye bag surgery) is a treatment for undereye bags and drooping eyelids. The forehead lift, another facial rejuvenation procedure, addresses forehead wrinkles and sagging eyebrows. Patients looking for a forehead lift or eyelid lift in Atlanta choose Jeffords Plastic Surgery for the high-quality results they’ve been hoping for.
Blepharoplasty is a safe and effective procedure for resolving signs of premature aging such as dark circles and sagging upper and lower eyelids. These aging eye conditions can make you look older and even impair your vision.
When excess skin is removed during an eyelid lift, the eyes appear more youthful, giving patients a more alert and awake appearance. Brow lift surgery may be required to open the eye appearance if the brow is sagging.

A brow lift helps patients shed a “worried” look and restores a refreshed appearance. This procedure is also known as a forehead lift.
Benefits of a Forehead Lift
The forehead lift offers a number of benefits. Primary among these are two key improvements: eliminating forehead wrinkles and lifting sagging eyebrows.
The brow lift can smooth away horizontal forehead wrinkles and vertical lines between the eyebrows. This results in a more youthful and relaxed appearance for the face.
This procedure also lifts and shapes eyebrows that have lost definition over the years. Sagging brows can make a person look more awake and alert and less lethargic.
The Brow Lift Procedure
There are multiple techniques available, including the use of endoscopy. During a brow lift, the skin and muscles of the forehead are tightened through one or more incisions in the hairline, producing smoother skin and more attractive eyebrows.
Dr. Jeffords often recommend combining a brow lift with other procedures such as an eyelid lift and/or nose reshaping to provide total facial rejuvenation during one surgery.
Recovery After a Forehead/Brow Lift
Patients often find that recovery from a brow lift is quick and easy, but it does come with some bruising, slight swelling, and mild discomfort. Ice packs can aid in the reduction of swelling. For best results, follow the post-surgical care instructions of Dr. Jeffords.
Sutures will be removed during a follow-up treatment, where the doctor will ensure that healing is going as expected. Patients must typically take some time off from work until cleared to return, typically around a week and a half to two weeks.

By rejuvenating the eyes with an eyelid lift, we can help enhance one’s appearance and give the face a more youthful look.
Benefits of an Eyelid Lift
A blepharoplasty can make a dramatic difference by helping you have a relaxed and youthful look. Eyelid surgery (technically called blepharoplasty) is a procedure to remove fat, along with excess skin and muscle, from the upper and lower eyelids. Eyelid surgery can correct drooping upper lids and puffy bags below your eyes – features that make you look older and more tired than you feel, and may even interfere with your vision.
However, it won’t remove crow’s feet or other wrinkles, eliminate dark circles under your eyes, or lift sagging eyebrows. While it can add an upper eyelid crease to Asian eyes (called double eyelid surgery), it will not erase evidence of your ethnic or racial heritage. Blepharoplasty can be done alone or in conjunction with other facial surgery procedures such as a facelift or brow lift.
The Blepharoplasty Procedure
Eyelid surgery may be performed under local or general anesthesia. The procedure calls for small incisions along the natural lines of your eyelids to minimize scarring. Generally, excess skin is removed from the upper and/or lower lids. Your surgeon may remove fat and tighten muscle to help you attain a fresher, more alert expression.
When both upper eyelid surgery and lower eyelid surgery are being performed during a single session, upper blepharoplasty is performed first, followed by lower blepharoplasty.
Recovery After an Eyelid Lift
Most patients are back to their normal routine within days, although complete recovery may take a few weeks. Swelling, bruising and some discomfort are part of the recovery process, and usually can be alleviated with cold compresses and appropriate medications.
Eyelid surgery risks and complications vary depending on the complexity of the specific operation.
Forehead Lift and Eyelid Lift Cost
In most cases, brow lifts and blepharoplasty are cosmetic procedures, and because of this, their cost is not covered by medical insurance. In the case where the eyelids affect one’s field of vision, blepharoplasty is considered functional and its price may be covered. To aid in payment for procedures, we offer financing through Prosper Healthcare Lending and CareCredit.
